THREE MEMBERS ELECTED TO THE SOUTHWEST PGA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Newly elected Board members include Kevin Reagan, Michael Seiden and Chris Thomson

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - June 24, 2022 - The Southwest PGA is pleased to announce that Kevin Reagan, Michael Seiden and Chris Thomson were elected to the Board of Directors of the Southwest Professional Golfers' Association of America by members at the Association's Annual Meeting. They each will serve a three-year term on the Board.

"We are extremely excited and welcome each of the new members to the Southwest PGA Board of Directors," said Al Sutton, President of the Southwest PGA and PGA Director of Golf at Paradise Valley (Ariz.) Country Club. "Kevin, Michael and Chris each bring a diverse skill set and valuable experience to the Board. Their leadership in the governance of the Section will benefit the entire membership as we continue to execute the strategic plan of the Southwest PGA."

Reagan, PGA Head Golf Professional at Granite Falls Golf Club in Surprise, Ariz., earned his membership in the PGA of America in 1998 and has been in the Southwest Section for his entire 24-year career.

He has been very active in the governance of the Southwest PGA. He was previously elected to the Board of Directors in 2018 for a three-year term where he served as chairman of the Associates and Mentoring Committee.

Throughout his career Reagan has engaged with PGA Associates on the importance of education and provided support for them to obtain their membership. He implemented networking events, playing opportunities and educational seminars to further assist them in advancing their careers. Reagan remained involved after his previous term expired by serving on the Education Committee.

He was honored in 2021 with the Southwest PGA Professional Development Award, presented annually to a PGA Professional who exhibits commendable additions to the education of PGA Professionals.

Seiden, PGA Outside Sales Representative at Callaway Golf, earned his membership in the PGA of America in January of 2010 as a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Before shifting gears transitioning to the sales side of golf, Seiden served as the PGA Head Golf Professional at Bali Hai Golf Club and Desert Pines Golf Club, both in Las Vegas. Previously he worked at Huntingdon Valley (Pa.) Country Club and historic Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Before accepting his current position at Callaway, Seiden worked for notable brands Bobby Jones, Page & Tuttle and Sunice.

Seiden currently is a member of the Southern Nevada Chapter PGA Board of Directors and serves on the Revenue, Tournament and Awards Committees. He was honored in 2010 as the Southwest PGA Merchandiser of the Year for Resort Facilities.

Thomson, is the PGA Assistant Golf Professional at Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale. He earned his membership in the PGA of America in December of 1991 - spending the majority of his 31-year career working in Lincoln, Neb. Before returning to Camelback in 2021, where he began his career in 1990, Thomson served the last 10 years as the PGA Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln.

During his time in the Nebraska Section PGA, Thomson was very involved in governance  having served on numerous committees, the Board of Directors and as of officer of the Section from 2005-2009. He was elected to the PGA of America Board of Directors representing District 8 from 2011-2014. He currently serves on the PGA of America Awards Committee.

Among his numerous awards while at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club, Thomson was honored with the 2020 PGA of America Youth Player Development Award, presented to a PGA Professional who has made extraordinary and exemplary contributions to developing junior players. He was also recognized as a Golf Digest Best Teacher in Nebraska and was awarded the National Golf Course Owners Association National Player Development Award.
